Reading have impressed everyone this season by continuing their fine form from last year. They find themselves in seventh place and are on quite a decent run. The Royals are unbeaten in their last four matches, which includes three wins and a draw at home to Man Utd. Of course, we all know what Chelsea are about. The champions are in second place on goal difference, and have won four out of their last five games - their last game being a draw at home to Aston Villa.

This is going to be an interesting game as of course the bookies have gone big on Chelsea to win, and they are a best priced 1/2 to secure the three points, which I think is way too short as they play a team who are themselves in a fine run of form, and have already proved they can match the big guns on their day by securing a draw with Man Utd.

Many of the Chelsea players will have been away on international duty, and although they are professional enough to be mentally and physically fit for every game, fatigue must play a part, and also this is Reading's biggest game of their season, and so the atmosphere will be pretty intense. I am expecting Chelsea to win this game although it will be a battle and be very tight. The Royals may need extra assistance from the asian handicap.

Reading are way overpriced at 6/1 to win this match, and it may be worth a speculative punt at those inflated odds, however Reading +1 at an almost evens 1.975 offers quite a bit of appeal. Chelsea could easily win by the one odd goal - which is why I'm also putting money on correct score 'saver' of Chelsea to win 2-0 @ 6/1.

i wouldn't agree with that - Barcelona beckoning, several players returning from international duty - this is a very tricky game and certainly the 1.5 price is far too short. Yet, I'm not sure how Reading are going to be able to live with the physical presence of Drogba, and I actually really fancy Shevcenko to score. I don't think he's been playing as badly as some would have you believe, even though his tendancy to drop deep is a bit worrying. I can see very different levels of motivation here, and its one that I find it difficult to bet on in terms of a result. Joe Cole back from injury should be a real boost too.
The 1.83 on the over 2.25 Goals is worth considering. The downside would be a Chelsea lead and old style Mourinho tactics, but Chelsea have struggled to kill games as they once did. reading play some impressive open football, and Chelsea this season have been a bit different from the Chelsea of old. This is one I'll study more - a lot will depend on team news.

this is a messy game especially with the international return, drogba cntract dispute, reading's good start. Chelsea meanwhile are champions for a reason and know how to grind out results here, I would advise a no bet, or small stakes if fr the home or draw if you must get involved.

As far as I remember I bet very rarely on Chelsea, mainly because of the rubish odds they get. However I am quite tempted to do so this weekend. Reading are doing great I admit. Especially at home and strongly remind Wigans last year exceptional performance.
Chelsea arent the machine they used to be mainly because change of formation with Sheva stepping in. Of course you cant chose between him and Drogba with the first costing a fortune and the second being in quite good form. Thats why they dont use the wingers like they did last year and are still struggling to find a good tempo.
Cole will be probably out, Ballack is still suspended. No need to mention Chelsea line up looks great on paper at least and of course there is huge gap between these 2 sides. However I concider this game as quite important for the Blues as they can take the 1st place if win here and in the same time Man Utd fail away at Wigan, which isnt out of question. An important game for Chelsea in my eyes and Mourinho knows how to get 3 points in such games.

Maybe it isnt very original  , but I am backing the champions here with a bit larger stake as no matter how good Reading is doing at the moment I dont think they will rescue something here.

Reading (from): Hahnemann, Murty, de la Cruz, Sonko, Ingimarsson, Shorey, Seol, Little, Sidwell, Harper, Convey, Lita, Doyle, Long, Stack, Halls, Bikey, Gunnarsson, Oster, Hunt.

Chelsea (from): Cech, Cudicini, Ferreira, Bridge, Cole, Geremi, Terry, Carvalho, Lampard, Diarra, Makelele, Robben, Wright-Phillips, Boulahrouz, Drogba, Shevchenko, Kalou, Essien.

Chelsea 8/10 @ 1.50 globet

I advice everybody to skip that game because you all guys have to admit that Chelsea is weaker than the team that won two titles in a row and whoever Sheva and Ballack are,Mourinho made one big mistake according to me and this is breaking the rule that a team that wins should not be changed.
Sheva is in bad shape,Joe Cole has not still recovered and the middle line is complete chaos now.
Terry is not in best shape doing stupid mistakes and overall I think this 1,5 is a risky bet.

P.S.Zzax, I know that you do not like Chelsea at all,but I beg you to write the name of the club correctly - I think this is the the least respect that you could give the team that is created 1905 and has more than a century history.

BBC

Reading expect skipper Graeme Murty and striker Kevin Doyle to be fit despite both missing out on representing their national sides.

Ibrahima Sonko is fit but Dave Kitson, Sam Sodje, Peter Mate, Aaron Brown and Simon Cox are out and Seol Ki-Hyeon's fitness will be assessed.

Ashley Cole is the main doubt for Chelsea after suffering a leg injury in England's 2-0 defeat by Croatia.

German midfielder Michael Ballack is still suspended.

-----------------------------

If Seol isnt playing i might consider lumping on Chelsea aswell. Despite my own promise not to back favourites away at these crappy odds...

Anyway, waiting for more team news...

i dont know u factor in the politics of soccer in your choice of bets.of course i do!!! motivational levels are running high in the chelsea camp right now with no less than 5 players vying for fifa player of the year ( i think).defending champs or not chelsea will play real soccer.a good win for chelsea will suffice ,ballack or no ballack!

Shev and ballack needs to prove there worthyness

Chelsea must win, I hope, I bet big money on them:)
Reading can***357; score, Cech is so a good goalkeeper. And about Ballack? He cant play, but they can play without them...
