Tampa Bay - Atlanta
Big revenge factor here, as the Thrashers where beaten by Tampa Bay in there opening game. Now Atlanta have to fly to Tampa, where the Lightning will face a revenge mined Thrashers team.
The Thrashers won only three of eight meetings with the Lightning last season, but two of those wins came in Tampa.
Tampa Bays all time leading scorer Lecavalier has yet to find the net. The top overall pick by the Lightning in 1998, Lecavalier is Tampa Bay's all-time leading goal scorer with 181. But with Lecavalier getting off to a slow start, Ryan Craig has gotten off to a great start scoring three goals this season. Ryan scored two goals against Atlanta in there opener.
With the revenger factor in mind and Atlantas success in Tampa and the Lightnings best player not in good form yet i fancy Atlanta in this game.
Atlanta +1.5 3u-1.20 (Canbet)
Also taking Calgary over San Jose. San Jose have got off to a great start but will be coming into Calgary where they have not played all that well, Calgary have won there last 3 against the Sharks. San Jose will be going on a 3 game road trip that will include Vancouver and Edmonton. I like Calgary in this game and will back them to win.
Calgary 1.2u-1u (Canbet)***Cancel Bet***
Changing my Calgary bet to Anaheim, i like there playing style and there defence is killer. The Ducks should put St.Louis away, but the Blues will fight and it won't be an easy task. I like Anaheim to control the game and take it away from St.Louis and leave them chanceless in the late stage of the game.
Ducks 2u-1u (Canbet)

Calgary - San Jose Under 5.5 (1.81 @ Mansion) 6 units
Two good teams, and this should be a tight game with few goals. Don't have time for a writeup but here's some decent stats.
Head to Head
- Under is 5-1-2 in the last 8 meetings in Calgary
- Under is 4-1-1 in the last 6 meetings.
San Jose
- Under is 5-0 in Sharks last 5 games following a win.
- Under is 4-0 in Sharks last 4 Monday games.
- Under is 8-2 in Sharks last 10 after allowing 2 goals or less in their previous game.
- Under is 4-1 in Sharks last 5 road games.
- Under is 5-2 in Sharks last 7 games as a road underdog.
Calgary
- Under is 8-0 in Flames last 8 games as a favorite of -110 to -150.
- Under is 42-17-4 in CAL last 63 home games.
- Under is 7-1-1 in Flames last 9 when their opponent allows 2 goals or less in their previous game.
Atlanta Thrashers (Moneyline) (2.29 @ Mansion) 3 units
jig-jag have said it all already. Revenge game for Atlanta, and with the momentum they got from hammering Florida 6 - 0 in their last game, they should stand a good chance here. Thrashers are one of the teams I think can do good this season, and surprise a few people. Awesome offense, and defense looks a bit more promising this season. Trying the straight win, though with moneyline meaning Overtime and SO are included.
Also taking Calgary over San Jose. San Jose have got off to a great start but will be coming into Calgary where they have not played all that well, Calgary have won there last 3 against the Sharks. Calgary 1.2u-1u (Canbet)
I do not agree with this one mate...Calgary was nothing special in their first two games. They were not able to score on PP against Edmoton in both games, while SJ was excellent on PK, not allowing a single goal. And PP is one of the key factors in moderen hockey, so going with Flames toady is not the best idea IMHO. Yes, there some arguments, speaking infavor of your pick, espcially Kiprusoff is good reason to bet on Calgary, but I think this is even game, with SJ IMHO has good chance to win this one. I think that Under is better options here. There is one stats-based pick about this Under. I wrote down my ideas about this match....
Calgary Flames : San Jose Sharks Under 5.5 @1.80 5/10 Bwin
This pick is based on two facts.
First is, that both teams has ecellent goalkeepers. Calgary netminder is Mika Kiprussof, IMHO one of best three goalies in league. He was leading leage in lowest GAA in last two seasons. He allows only 2.17 GAA during his career and has .918 SVS. He has began new season in his style, allowing four goals and alomost 91% SVS in first two games with Edmonton. SJ also has two excellent goalies in Toskala and Nabokov and no matters who will be SJ netminder today we can expekt that Calgary will not score more than two goals, especially because they were not playing good in PP, not even scoring a single PP goal in first two games.
Sharks were excellent in Penalty killing, not conceeding a single PP goal in first two games against St. Louis and New York Islaneders.
There is another fact speaking for Under in this game. Calgary was alwyas synoynm for defensive minded hockey, so low scoring game is very probable today.
Unfortunatley, bookies know all this facts, so odds for Under are nothing special, but I think that every odd higher than @1.80 is worth of try with medium stake...
Ducks of Anaheim : St. Louis Blues Pick: Anaheim/-0,5/ Odd: 1.73 Stake: 6/10 BM: Pinnacle
Although St. Louis Blues were able to avoid defeat in regulation agains SJ on opening day I do not rate them very high in my book.
IMHO Ducks are clearly better team, with probably strongest first blue line pair in the league. Nidermayer and Pronger are without any doubt among 10 best defenders in league. In the goal Aanheim is very strong with Giugere and Bryzgalov and in attack Teemu Sellane is a key player. Ducks are also good in PP, scoring both goals against Coyotes in man advantage situation.
We have new Blues on the other side...but with Manny Legace in the net, I do not trust them very much. He has 4.46 GAA and .862 save percentage this season, which is awful, but we cannot expeckt much more from him, because his is lousy goaltender. Blues were shorthanded 21 times in first two games and agains strong Ducks, they will probablay give up 7-10 PP oportunites.
Anyway, Ducks are very, very strong team and I see them trashing Blues tonight...odds aronud @1.75 are good enough for me....

It is true...my mistake, only now I founfd this info...things are little bit different now, but I still thinks Ducks are better team.
