Tomorrow's matches in Jupiler League, Netherlands:

Cambuur Leeuwarden vs. Fortuna Sittard Average odds:2,00 3,16 3,30
Last 10 matches between them shows that F. Sittard has the upper hand:Cambuur wins:2, Fortuna wins:5
and 3 matches ended with draw. In Leeuwarden the situation looks a little better for Cambuur: Cambuur
wins:1 Fortuna wins:1 and 3 matches ended with a draw. In the last 8 home matches, Cambuur has an
equal rating: 3 wins, 2 draws and 3 losses. In their last 8 away matches, Fortuna's rating looks
terrible: they have no win matches, 2 draws and 6 losses have they.
Cambuur-at home: 20. 0-2-3 2:9 2 points
Foruna-away: 16. 0-1-3 3:8 1 point
Recent forms:
Cambuur:
29.09.2006 Cambuur-Emmen 0-2
22.09.2006 Volendam-Cambuur 3-0
15.09.2006 Cambuur-De Graafschap 1-1

Fortuna Sittard:
29.09.2006 Fortuna-Volendam 1-3
22.09.2006 Haarlem-Fortuna 1-1
15.09.2006 Fortuna-Venlo 0-2

Cambuur's draw aganist De Graafschap looks a big surprise, but they have lost aganist Emmen and
Volendam very easily. Fortuna has two losses at home these times, but both team were one-class
better than Fortuna. The away draw aganist Haarlem was a good match for them. Cambuur has no wins
in their past 9 matches, and Fortuna has no wins in their past 6 matches.

This match is between two underdogs: Cambuur is 20th and Fortuna is 18th. That match can be
anything, so I think this match is unpredictable. If somebody knows injuries, suspensions, please
write down, because in this match one key player's missing can be a decisive factor.

Haarlem FC vs. Dordrecht Average odds:2,49 3,11 2,52
Last 10 matches between them shows about equal playing: Haarlem has got 3 wins, Dordrecht has got
4 wins and 3 matches was drawn. An interesting thing: last 5 matches between them in Haarlem:0 Haarlem
wins, 2 draws and 3 Dordrecht wins.Haarlem is almost terrible at home: in their last 8 home matches
they won 1 match, 4 draws and 3 away wins. Dordrecht is excellent far from its home: 4 wins, 2 draws
and 2 losses.
Haarlem-at home: 12. 1-3-0 5:4 6 points
Dordrecht away: 1.1 1-2-1 8:5 5 points
Recent forms:
Haarlem FC:
29.09.2006 AGOVV-Haarlem 2-3
22.09.2006 Haarlem-Fortuna 1-1
15.09.2006 Roosendaal-Haarlem 2-0

Dordrecht:
29.09.2006 Dordrecht-Helmond 2-0
24.09.2006 Top Oss-Dordrecht 2-2
15.09.2006 Dordrecht-FC Eindhoven 2-1

Dordrecht is an unlucky team in this season: in the first 6 rounds they were in the 2nd place,so
almost qualified to the knock-out stage.

I think this match biggest question is: will Dordrecht win or will the match be a draw? I don't think
so that Harrlem can win. An interesting thing that can help us: Dordrecht played in the first
nine rounds the most non-surprising matches. So if they will bring the "paper form", they will win.

Emmen vs. Telstar Average odds:2,32 3,12 2,70
Last 10 matches between them shows that Emmen is better: 6 wins has got Emmen, 2 wins has got Telstar
and 2 matches was a draw. In Emmen the situation is the same:Emmen has 3 wins, Telstar has 1 win
and one match was draw. Emmen's last 8 home matches: 3 wins,3 draws, 2 losses. Telstar's last 8 away
matches: 3 wins, 2 draws, 3 losses.
Emmen-at home: 14. 1-2-1 5:7 5 points
Telstar away: 8. 2-0-2 9:9 6 points
Recent forms:
Emmen:
29.09.2006 Cambuur-Emmen 0-2
22.09.2006 FC Eindhoven-Emmen 1-4
15.09.2006 Emmen-Go Ahead Eagles 1-1

Telstar:
29.09.2006 Telstar-Maastricht 1-0
22.09.2006 Go Ahead Eagles-Telstar 1-2
15.09.2006 Telstar-Top Oss 4-0

We can see, both teams are in a great form and have chances to finish in the first place in the second
period (in the second period Emmen is 6th, Telstar is 4th). Very hard match. Face-to-face Emmen is
slightly better, but table shows Telstar is better(Emmen is 11st, Telstar is 4th). And another thing
that sounds good for Telstar: they are in a four-win race.

A little history: both teams are funny: Emmen in the 2004-2005 season finished 18th, in the 2005-2006
season finished 6th. Telstar in 2004-2005 was 7th, in 2005-2006 was 16th. What are these teams's real
face???

Go Ahead Eagles(Deventer) vs. Eindhoven FC Average odds:1,69 3,40 4,23
Last 10 matches between them shows a lot of draws: 3 Deventer wins, 5 draws, 2 Eindhoven wins.
In Deventer, last 5 matches wasn't a nice trip for Eindhoven: 2 Deventer wins, 3 draws and
0 Eindhoven wins. Deventer's last 8 home matches:4 wins, 1 draw and 3 losses. Eindhoven's last 8
away matches: 2 wins, 2 draws and 4 losses.
Deventer-at home: 9. 2-1-1 7:5 7 points
Eindhoven away: 15. 0-2-2 3:5 2 points
Recent forms:
Deventer:
29.09.2006 Den Bosch-Go Ahead 1-1
22.09.2006 Go Ahead-Telstar 1-2
15.09.2006 Emmen-Go Ahead 1-1

FC Eindhoven:
29.09.2006 FC Eindhoven-De Graafschap 1-2
22.09.2006 FC Eindhoven-Emmen 1-4
15.09.2006 Dordrecht-FC Eindhoven 2-1

FC Eindhoven has 3 losses in a row. They are really bad in this season, has only 1 win from 9 matches.
In the other hand, Go Ahead is slightly better than past years. They are on the 10th place, which is
great for them. In 2004-2005 they finished 17th(from 19), in 2005-2006 they finished 18th (from 20).
Can somebody tell me why are they so good now?

In this match I think Deventer (Go Ahead) can win, because they are the better team, and FC Eindhoven
lost their last 3 matches. But I think Deventer and Zwolle play in the whole league the most
unpredictable matches (I think these two teams play the most surprising results).

De Graafschap(Doetinchem) vs. Den Bosch Average odds:2,29 3,11 2,75
Last 10 matches between them:3 Graafschap-wins, 2 draws and 5 Den Bosch-wins. In Doetinchem:3 De
Graafschap-wins, 1 draw and 1 Den Bosch-win. De Graafschap's last 8 home matches: 4 wins, 1 draw and
3 losses. Den Bosch's last 8 away matches: 3 wins, 1 draw and 4 losses.
De Graafschap at home: 10. 2-0-2 7:5 6 points
Den Bsoch away: 5. 2-1-1 9:8 7 points
Recent forms:
De Graafschap:
29.09.2006 FC Eindhoven-De Graafschap 1-2
22.09.2006 De Graafschap-Roosendaal 0-1
15.09.2006 Cambuur-De Graafschap 1-1

Den Bosch:
29.09.2006 Den Bosch-Go Ahead Eagles 1-1
22.09.2006 AGOVV-Den Bosch 3-0
15.09.2006 Den Bosch-Maastricht 2-1

That is one of the most interesting matches in this round. Den Bosch finished 1st in the First period
so they will go into the knockout stage. Will they be motivated? Because I think that they are too
weak to be the champions. On the other side, De Graafschap have to be motivated, because of their
last at-home lost aganist RBC. They have to play good because of the fans. Anyway, that is an
unpredictable match.

Helmond Sport vs. Zwolle Average odds:2,38 3,13 2,63
Last 10 matches between them: 3 Helmond-wins, 3 draws and 4 Zwolle-wins. In Helmond: 2 Helmond-wins,
1 draw and 2 Zwolle-wins. Helmond's last 8 home matches: 1 win, 4 draws and 3 losses. Zwolle's last
8 away matches: 2 wins, 1 draw and 5 losses.
Helmond at home: 18. 0-3-1 5:11 3 points
Zwolle away: 13. 1-1-2 7:7 4 points
Recent forms:
Helmond:
29.09.2006 Dordrecht-Helmond 2-0
22.09.2006 Venlo-Helmond 6-2
15.09.2006 Helmond-Veendam 1-7

Zwolle:
29.09.2006 Zwolle-Venlo 1-2
24.09.2006 Veendam-Zwolle 3-1
15.09.2006 Zwolle-Volendam 1-1

What happened with Helmond? Does anyone know? Because they finished 6th in 2004-2005 and 4th in
2005-2006. They are so bad in this season, they haven't win a match yet! Last 3 matches were even
horrible! One 1-7 and one 2-6! I don't know much about Zwolle, but they can easily win, although
they are a bad team, too.

MVV Maastricht vs. Veendam Average odds:2,57 3,10 2,43
Last 10 matches shows MVV is better: 4 MVV wins, 4 draws and 2 losses. In Maastricht: 2 MVV wins,
1 draw and 2 Veendam wins. Maastricht's last 8 home matches: 3 wins, 4 draws and only one loss.
Veendam's last 8 away matches: 2 wins, 4 draws and 2 losses.
MVV at home: 11. 1-3-0 5:3 6 points
Veendam away: 7. 1-3-0 9:3 6 points
Recent forms:
MVV:
29.09.2006 Telstar-Maastricht 1-0
22.09.2006 Maastricht-Omniworld 1-1
15.09.2006 Den Bosch-Maastricht 2-1

Veendam:
29.09.2006 Veendam-Top Oss 2-0
24.09.2006 Veendam-Zwolle 3-1
15.09.2006 Helmond-Veendam 1-7

I think Veendam will be very motivated. They are in the 1st place in the second period, so they have
a great chance to qualify in the knockout stage. Maastricht can be an ideal partner for them, because
they are in a bad form. Veendam have won a lot with their match aganist Helmond: a huge win (7-1),
which I think gave the players a plus motivation. Veendam has no lose in their last 9 Gouden Gids
Divise match. So, they can win this match, too.

RBC Roosendaal vs. VVV Venlo Average odds:1,71 3,38 4,14
Last 10 matches shows an equal play with not so many draws: 4 RBC wins, 2 draws, 4 VVV wins. In
Roosendaal: 4 RBC wins, 0 draws, 1 VVV win. RBC's last 8 home matches: 4 wins, 2 draws, 2 losses.
VVV's last 8 away matches: 2 wins, 2 draws, 4 losses.
RBC at home: 6. 3-1-0 11-2 10 points
VVV away: 6. 2-1-2 7-7 7 points
Recent forms:
RBC:
29.09.2006 Omniworld-Roosendaal 1-4
22.09.2006 De Graafschap-Roosendaal 0-1
15.09.2006 Roosendaal-Haarlem 2-0

VVV:
29.09.2006 Zwolle-Venlo 1-2
22.09.2006 Venlo-Helmond 6-2
15.09.2006 Fortuna-Venlo 0-2

Two fantastic-form teams's match, which can easily be anything. RBC is on the first place in the table
with no losses. Venlo, -after a bad beginning of the season- plays very well.
Both teams has the chance to finish at the top in the second period, because they have 9-9 points.
RBC's adventage is home ground, but that shouldn't be a decisive factor. I'm saying again, that can
be anything, so we can be more clever if we see injuries, suspensions, etc. But I haven't got a link
where I can see this :((

Top Oss vs. AGOVV Average odds:2,17 3,17 2,90
Last 8 matches: 5 Top Oss wins, 1 draw and 2 AGOVV wins. In Oss: 3 Top wins, 0 draw and 1 AGOVV win.
Top Oss's last 8 home matches: 2 wins, 4 draws, 2 losses. AGOVV's last 8 away matches: only one win,
no draws and 7 losses.
Top Oss at home: 15. 1-2-1 5:9 5 points
AGOVV away: 20. 0-0-4 4:9 0 points
Recent forms:
Top Oss:
29.09.2006 Veendam-Top Oss 2-0
24.09.2006 Top Oss-Dordrecht 2-2
15.09.2006 Telstar-Top Oss 4-0

AGOVV:
29.09.2006 AGOVV-Haarlem 2-3
22.09.2006 AGOVV-Den Bosch 3-0
15.09.2006 Omniworld-AGOVV 2-0

The only thing that I can say about this match is AGOVV's terrible away rating. Anyway, both teams
are bad, are in a bad form. Next to Cambuur-Fortuna-match, one of the most boring match in this round.

Finally:
Volendam vs. Omniworld Average odds:1,43 3,83 6,31
Last 2 matches: 1 Volendam win, 1 draw and 0 Omniworld-win. In Volendam: 1 Volendam-win.
Volendam's last 8 home matches: 6 wins, 0 draw and 2 losses. Omniworld's last 8 away matches: 1 win,
3 draws and 4 losses.
Volendam at home: 4. 4-0-0 10:2 12 points
Omniworld away: 11. 1-1-2 3:6 4 points
Recent forms:
Volendam:
29.09.2006 Fortuna-Volendam 1-3
22.09.2006 Volendam-Cambuur 3-0
15.09.2006 Zwolle-Volendam 1-1

Omniworld:
29.09.2006 Omniworld-Roosendaal 1-4
22.09.2006 Maastricht-Omniworld 1-1
15.09.2006 Omniworld-AGOVV 2-0

That is a "sure" home win-says a lot of people. I probably agree, but don't forget, Omniworld is not
the same than last year. They are slightly better.

After all: I wish good luck everyone. And I have a question, too: Does anyone have good links about
Gouden Gids Divise?

Thanks for your comprehensive overview about tomorrow's round.
I would like to share my thoughts on some of the matches here as well:

Cambuur - Fortuna
Last Friday I watched Fortuna against Volendam and this was one of the stranges matches I've seen for a long time, after 15 minutes 0-3 and it seemed that Fortuna was facing the highest defeat ever, but then the match totally changed and in the second half, I have never seen a team so dominant like Fortuna and with a bit of luck (I think they hit metal 3 times) and cleverness they could have easily won this game, but they only scored once.
So what to expect from tomorrow's game? It's pretty unpredictable, if Sittard can peform like in the second half against Volendam, they can easily win. Odds on the home team, about which I have no information, have no value. I might go for an away win at low stakes.

MVV - Vendam
MVV is a team which I think has way more potential than the results show, but beside some convincing wins, their results left a lot to be desired. I think the only betting option for this game is under, which has odds around 2,0.

I really most times skip this league, cos I guess this is the league for bookies. The weird modus seems to be installed for a legal fixxing league. I guess the teams who won one of the parts, still donīt know after which system its decided and the best overall team can play for promotion and no team can be relegated.
So whats the motivation for a team that won one of this shitty parts of championship and has place number 7 , 9 rounds before season is finished.
But maybe Iīm totally wrong, can somebody advice me how this league can be transparent, and whats the aims of the different teams.

thnx

Although you might expect this, it's not a league known for fixing. I agree that the fact teams can't be relegated is far from ideal, but the main reason is financial and infrastructural. For most amateur teams it's simply not possible to follow the demands put on them by the Dutch Football Association regarding flood lights, safety, stadium infrastructure etc. This has led to a closed system that is not good for competition. I agree with you in that respect.

On the other hand, the system with 6 period titles gives every team a reason to keep trying. Even if you have had a bad start and end up in a mid-table position (which would normally lead to complacency and -in some countries- match-fixing) you are in with a chance to reach the play-offs right till the end. Teams that already have taken a title could be driven to get a good table position to enhance their chances in the play-offs. If you end high in the ranking you have a free bye in the first round of the play-offs, and after that -on paper- a less dificult schedule than teams that end the season in the lower parts of the table.

Of course I can't guarantee that there is no match-fixing in Holland (nobody can), but I very much doubt this.

thnx for explanation, of cors in every legue could and can happen fixxing things.
But like u wrote this modus is far from good. I canīt understand why a top football country canīt have an ifrastructure, that 3rd league teams will not have problems to promote to second league.
I also donīt understand this hofklasse ( or how they are called) leagues, and if its worth to bet on it, since bwin offers it

Strandja, there are talks going on to make it an open system in 2008 or 2009, but it's far from a done deal. Most amateur teams don't have the resources to become professional. Especially in a small country like Holland, there is not enough room for too may pro-teams. For example in my area (Maastricht), my team MVV has -within a 25 km distance- competition (regarding audience and sponsors) from Fortuna, Roda JC, Standard Liege and RC Genk. Another pro-team in this region would simply not survive.

Henk, thanks for the confidence in my team. I support MVV and it's good to see someone having a bit of faith in them. I do think MVV has a chance at home to Veendam (same as I predicted last week on punterslounge they would probably lose against Telstar). Biggest problem for MVV is scoring. The best part of the team is, although a bit slow, the defence. I think Veendam has a very good team, but they will probably be in for a hard time in Maastricht. Especially against stronger teams MVV often look motivated and play to the best of their abilities. Crucial question is wether playmaker Brncic will be available. He is the all important player in the team and he didn't play in the previous two matches. if he doesn't play, the team doesn't create as many chances and scoring becomes even more of a problem. if he plays, the team functions better and a good result against Veendam is more likely. With Veendam not losing yet and MVV not losing yet at home (3 draws) a draw is a very likely result.

Regarding Fortuna: Their best forward Wasiu Taiwo won't be playing. Fortuna have practiced on artificial grass pitch to be prepared when they play Cambuur on Friday. Cambuur had given their coach an ultimatum (4 points out of matches against Emmen and Fortuna), but seem to have come back from this descision. There is no money to fire him.

I was thinking about home wins of RBC and Volendaam, over in Cambuur-Fortuna match and under in MVV-Veendam match, so I browsed homepages of teams involved. Unfortunately I found team news only for one team of each pair. Anybody have news of other teams?

MVV Maastricht
http://www.mvv.nl/default2.asp
Article "Het weekend begint met MVV – BV Veendam"

For MVV out of game are Drazen Brncic (knee), Laurent Castellana (foot), Tom Daemen (ankle) and Miel Mans (back) and probably Robert van Boxel although he joined practices with the team. With this problems, it is not clear which 11 coach Jurrie Koolhof will lineup but it seems logical that youngsters Anthony Di Lallo and Raphael Supusepa will start.

Hi Silvio, regarding MVV I can let you know things don't look as bad as they seemed. Brncic, who is very important, will be playing tonight. Castellana is normally a reserve player, has recovered from the injury, and will start from the bench tonight. Daemen is the only first-teamer not able to play. Mans and van Boxtel have been out for most of the season.

hi!
"the system with 6 period titles " what is it?can you explain me?

IGUANA
06-10-06, 16:17
The Netherlands Jupiler League(second division)

At the end of each season, the champion of the Eerste Divisie is automatically promoted to the Eredivisie. Six other clubs enter the Nacompetitie, a promotion/relegation playoff that includes the 16th- and 17th-place clubs in the Eredivisie. The following teams qualify for the Nacompetitie:

* The club with the best record in the "first period" of the season (after 8 rounds).
* The club with the best record in the "second period" of the season (rounds 9-16).
* The club with the best record in the "third period" of the season (rounds 17-24).
* The club with the best record in the "fourth period" of the season (rounds 25-32).
* The remaining spots are filled at season's end by the highest-placed clubs that have not already earned automatic promotion or qualified for the Nacompetitie.

If the club that wins a period has qualified for the Nacompetitie by winning a previous period, its place is filled by the next-best club in that period that has not already qualified. Usually, the clubs that qualify for the Nacompetitie turn out to be the 2nd- through 7th-placed clubs in the final table.

The Nacompetitie is divided into two groups of four clubs each, with one Eredivisie club and three Eerste Divisie clubs. Each group winner will play in the Eredivisie the next season, while the other three will play in the Eerste Divisie.

ruudje

IGUANA, the system you mentioned is the old system. Since last year the system works differently. There is no longer a "Nacompetitie"with teams divided into two poules. The basic system still stands, but now there are six periods (1-6, 7-12, 13-18, 19-24, 25-30, 31-36). Number 2 + 3 (if these teams already have a period title the next best team without a period title is also allowed to participate) in the table ranking, together with number 16 + 17 in eredivise participate in play-offs. Than, the worst ranked teams play first round play-off. Let's say number 2 till 9 are all qualified (last season number 10, 11 and 12 were qualified):

6 plays 9 (home and away)
7 plays 8 (home and away)

Winners go to next round of play-offs:

2 plays 5
3 plays 4
16 plays winner 7/8
17 plays winner 6/9

winner 2/5 plays winner 17 - 6/9 --> Winner gains promotion
winner 3/4 plays winner 16 - 7/8 --> Winner gains promotion

IGUANA

Thnx for the info ruudje. Good to know that I'm wrong, otherwise who knows what I could have done
Anyway, the new system seems even more complicated than the old one. Why do they like to make such a mess out of this league 8O
