Peterhead vs Fofar

From the BBC football webiste...

Injury-hit Forfar told to play on

George Shaw had to list himself as a trialist on Saturday
Forfar Athletic have had their request to postpone Saturday's Second Division game against Peterhead rejected despite having just eight fit players.
Forfar say manager George Shaw, who has a squad of 19, had been hit by an unprecedented injury crisis.

"The club have put in the application to have the game called off," club physio Brian McNeill had said.

"The club doctor has provided the appropriate certification required by the SFA to make their decision."

Forfar say they were only able to name three "useable outfield substitute players" for Saturday's 3-1 home defeat by Morton.

One of those was Shaw, who was listed as a trialist, and the eight who are fit include two goalkeepers.

"Alan Rattray and Fraser Coyle were both forced to end their game prematurely with recurrences of injuries, the former's injury requiring an un-fit Paul Tosh to play 45 minutes as a make shift centre half," said the club website.

In all, Forfar have nine players definitely out through injury and two others doubtful for the trip to Peterhead this weekend.

Odds are going down fast and at the moment the best you can find is 1.45 @ Bet365.

This is what i wrote on wednesday night:

31st September 2006
Scottish 2nd Division

Peterhead

Vs

Forfar

Peterhead had a terrible start to the season which was a surprise considering they got into the play-offs - I suppose there injury crisis didn’t help them. But in the last 3 games they have won 2 and lost last weekend although dominated the game against Stirling Albion.

Forfar are struggling at the moment and I can see them struggling to stay in this division. At time of writing Forfar have requested to the Scottish Football Association (SFA) to get this game postponed due to a lot of injuries – they have just put this on their website. They really are struggling to put a team out and are hopeful that the SFA will get this postponed. The thing with the SFA is they rarely postpone a game and many teams have had to play with no squads but it will be interesting to see if the SFA decided to call this game off as Forfar doesn’t have a big squad.

Now to form and Peterhead home form is 1-1-2 and Forfar away form is 0-1-2. Recent home and away form is 2-0-4 and Forfar is 0-1-5. Recent head to heads at Peterhead is 1-1-0 and home and away its 2-1-1.

The reason I’m going with this bet is because Forfar are struggling to put out a team as their website says and I think the SFA will want the game to go ahead so just incase it goes ahead I’m going to put this up here early because the price will drop tomorrow if SFA decide to let this game go ahead. At the moment Ladbrokes coupons in the UK have them at 1.72 although you can still get 1.67 online.

Good Luck

Think about 1.45 is about the right price now. 1.67/1.72 was value but the price has dropped so much.

I think Peterhead should win but i had backed Cowdenbeath against Forfar and that was 1-1 draw a few weeks ago and Forfar had a few injuries. I'll be at the game tomorrow.

From BBC:

"Forfar have a huge injury list and failed in their bid to have the match at Balmoor Stadium postponed.

Dave King, David Dunn, Paul Lunan, Alan Rattray, Fraser Coyle, Craig Lumsden, Gary Lynn and David Keogh are all out."

Well after these news, and after that what milners said I'm backing up Peterhead. I still have a HW price at 1.55 in my local bookie!

Last season H2H:
2006-03-21 Peterhead 1-1 Forfar
2006-01-02 Forfar 0-1 Peterhead
2005-11-05 Peterhead 4-2 Forfar
2005-08-27 Forfar 3-2 Peterhead

Good luck to all punters...........and to milners: Have I nice time at the stadium, mate! :)
