Aston Villa - Charlton Under 2.5 goals
Facts say Charlton is tough team when those 2 play, but injury list is saying that Charlton is struggling, I would say Villa to win but ill keep low, I say under 2.5 goals.
Hello together
i saw the last two games of Charlton!Charlton played very good in the second half against Chelsea! And they played not really good against Pompey. And if i look on the injury list i think we have to BACK Aston Villa.
They play at home, Milan Baros is back and Charlton has a long injury list.
Gamebookers with 1,75 is a really good price!!!!

Aston Villa v Charlton Athletic
Pick: Aston Villa
Odds: 1.78 @ BetFair

Aston Villa is playing absolutely brilliant under O***8217;Neill and I really like to watch them. O***8217;Neill add excitement in their game and from mediocre team he made them team who will be respected from all teams and managers.
Charlton is not doing well this season. Their start is not good enough and I think that they will have relegation troubles this season. They only took three points from Bolton, who isn***8217;t playin at their best this season too. It seems that Dowie cannot take the best from his players. Charlton is playing in poor form and almost every player is playing below his abilities. Both Bents, Hasselbaink, and I can give good grade only on El Karkouri and Young who is good as always.
Aston Villa is playing confidently and they are really good side. O***8217;Neill knows what he is doing and he made Aston Villa team for European places. Aston Villa drew last 2 Premier league matches, both away, against West Ham 1:1 and against Watford 0:0 in matches that should have won easily. They missed great number of goal opportunities and I think that the luck cannot be against them always and it is time to be on their side. With a bit of luck and Sorensen on the goal (who absolutely brilliant lately) brave team like Villa will beat Chartlon easily. Laursen is fit again for Villa and that will give more stability in the defensive line. I really do not believe that Charlton can take anything from this match.

just wanted to add to that last pick and further endorse the home win on smallish stakes. Charlton's defence has looked vulnerable this season as has the midfield, where in reverse villa have looked good. Expect mccann, petrov and davis to dominate posession here. Angel and Moore should worry the defence and scott carson should have another busy afternoon. In midweek charlton struggled to go past carlisle and didn't convince, villa looked very professional in beaing scunthorpe and this should be one to be added to a double or a treble.
Charlton has been everything but good this season. Yes, they did not have easy schedule, but as much as away lose to Chelsea 2-1 is justified and can be counted as good result, home lose 0-3 to Manchaester United is poor result. Just like defeats against Pompey and West Ham United. If being in relegation zone isnt enough problems for Charlton, injury list is huge for them as Londoners visit Villa Park. Reid, Pouso, Fortune and Diawara are out, while Holland and Hughes are doubtful. And even comeback of Icelandic sweeper Hreidarsson is not of much help.
Martin O\***8217;Neill is leading Aston Villa well and team is on rise as American Randy Lerner bought the team. Villa has yet to lose this season and is perfect 2-0-0 at home, beating Reading and Newcastle, both teams better than Charlton. Angel performs well and Milan Baros is coming back to team after injury. Defence looks solid with Sorensen in net and Mellberg, Ridgewell, Barry and Laursen. Also midfield, led by Bulgarian Stilian Petrov.
All in all, Villa is much better side here. In-form Angel, home crowd and strong defence should be enough for poor Charlton. For years Charlton has been known as good road team, but this year performances of Athletic are really bad. Statistics are also on our side, as Aston Villa won 5 of 7 clashes at Villa Park against Charlton in Premiership.
4/10 on Villa -.75

Yupp, but they've already started losing this tag after Curbishley; as they've won their first four away fixtures last season, and haven't won away from home since winning the last game in that sequence (it was against Portsmouth, in November I think).
I am also on Villa.

My local team (though not my favourite) have looked awful this season and I must agree that the departure of Curbs is more significant than the list of injuries we have. The unrest is growing amongst the fans. I watched Charlton @ Pompey and they had no cutting edge at all added to the fact that the defence seriously lacks coherence. Darren Bent was the only slight danger but only through his own industry. With relative current form, Villa must be backed but I'd agree that this is no large stakes (acca only) since Curbishleys influence may still save them yet. :?
You can get Villa (with the safety net of draw no bet) at 1.3. I've put this in a double with Chelsea at 1.44, and I'll be rather disappointed if this doesn't come in.
