No offence to them, but West Ham? 8O

Argentina striker Carlos Tevez says he and team-mate Javier Mascherano have agreed to sign for West Ham.
The World Cup duo, who both play for Corinthians in Brazil, are set to move to Upton Park on a year-long loan.
Tevez, 22, claims on his website he and Mascherano, 22, have signed contracts with West Ham despite being linked with moves to Manchester United and Arsenal.
The Hammers are thought to have struck a deal with Media Sports Investments, who own the rights to the two players.
I was pretty amazed too. All transfer news sites have published this, but I still reserve my right to doubt it will actually happen. 1 year loan deal for both of them with a view for a permanent move.
If it goes trough I could only congratulate Hammers managment and stuff, but still cant figure out how this will fit their budget.

Both of them were on the way to sign for West Ham a few months ago!
Who's Mascherano?
one of the best defensive midfielders in SA, great prospect and a NT player of course.
Don't you follow English footie only? I'm not sure if I can trust your info :P
That says it all how desperate Tevez was to go in Europe and leave Corinthians...
No offence to them, but West Ham? 8O
Both of them were transferred to Corinthians, after the team was aquired by an investment company partly/whole-owned by Arbramovic. They both are potential Chelsea assets, so is Alex of PSV. That's the key.

a one year loan deal of both players puts them in the premier league shop window for the bigger clubs next summer. It would seem strange but probably better than keeping the staus quo, as someone who has money on the hammers in betting without the top six I'd love this to occur, but lets wait and see till it's all signed. All this might do is alert a club to actually buy the player. I hear ac millan are sniffing around.
Also what do we think of other deals, will andy cole be the latest to turn back time at pompey?

tottenham picking up malbranque is great news for them, west ham have signed marek stech czech under 17 keeper, yup not quite major but all counts.
If mascherano signs with west ham, I hear rumoiurs of reo coker heading to man united, but all rumours so far.

Pompey complete Kranjcar signing
Kranjcar enjoyed a fine World Cup
Hajduk Split midfielder Niko Kranjcar has signed a four-year deal with Premiership side Portsmouth.
The 22-year-old passed a medical in Zagreb ahead of Croatia's Euro 2008 qualifier with Russia.
Pompey turned to him after missing out on Celtic's Bulgaria star Stilian Petrov, who has signed for Aston Villa.
Kranjcar, who has been in Croatia's side since he was a teenager, starred at the World Cup and had been linked with Juventus, Real Madrid and Celtic.
He is the son of Zlatko Kranjcar, who was Croatia's coach at the World Cup but was replaced by former West Ham and Everton defender Slaven Bilic after their failure in Germany.

i dont believe this. This will mean united will only have saha fit for their next match.
I think after the mascherano + tevez transfer their is alot of rumours being taken as gospel. Sky sports got an email from a fan about it. Some definitly not confirmed. I would be very suprised if it happens.
Same with the Reo coker transfer.

treze for manchester united? :?
interesting thing is that the Huth to Boro deal has not been finalised yet, but not certain if its part of a Gallas/Cole deal, or just that Peter Kenyon hasnt had time to sign the papers yet.

this year english premier is unbeleivable....the race is very open. almost half the teams in the table have good chance. i never seen a year like this where many teams are equally talented. what happened to the rich teams???
The Tezev-Mascherano deal is the biggest coup for a non-title challenging English club that I can remember for a long time. There have been mid-table clubs signing top players in the past - but they're almost never quality, young players. WHAT a move.
As a blues fan, I'm aboslutely gutted with the Gallas - Cole deal. We will not win the league this year. I was expecting this, and that is why I took the bet on Man U at the start of the season. Gallas' importance to Chelsea is MASSIVE.
Others that caught the eye were Malbranque and Chimbonda to Spurs - both good signings. Routledge was an important (loan) signing for Fulham as well.
Oh, and one seemingly minor signing that I think could potentially turn out to be an excellent one is Sibierski to Newcastle. Sibierski is an EXCELLENT header of the ball, and with the quality they have in wide areas - that could prove to be very shrewd business.
Also, Keano certainly jumped right into the transfer market. All good signings too. I do believe he'll make a very very good manager - though, he will have a real job at his hands over the short-term.
Croatian media reports Croatian NT goalkeeper Pletikosa transfer to Fulham failed due to Pletikosa not given working permit. Pletikosa stays in Shakhtar for this season. Fulham stays without excellent goalkeeper, but his only weak spot are crosses. So perhaps Premiership is not best place to be for him anyway.
Kranjcar signing for Portsmouth definitely confirmed. Portsmouth gots player with great vision but unfortunately with under par stamina.

DEADLINE DAY REPORT CARD
ARSENAL: A: Top deadline day for Arsenal, bringing in a world class defender in Gallas, cole is replaceable with clichy, Baptista is more than capable of replacing Reyes and getting two million for Cygan is awesome. Only doubt is that I would have liked to have seen them sign another striker, such as young scottish lad Steven Naismith, a natural goalscorer to come off the bench.
ASTON VILLA: B: Fairly quiet day for Villa which is good as they have youngsters who need to be giving a real good run, Petrov across the middle gives O'Neil a player he knows well and gives them a little more flair, all going well for VIlla. Not getting Milner was a blow for them.
BLACKBURN: E: One striker in on loan, AS Roma striker Shabani Nonda, one young lad Keith Barker to rochdale on loan and midifelder JOnathon DOuglas signed by Leeds. I would have thought the bottom club would have wanted to make more moves. Just heard Sheff Kuqi gone to Palace as well.
BOLTON: C: Anelka was the big one and willget goals, but the loss of Kevin Davies to injury meant Bolton could have done with another striker, not to mention some help in midfield, a Gravesen or Malbranque would have been perfect. Still Sam has picked up another unknown who will probably be perfect for them, Iran international defensive midfielder Andranik Teimourian on a two-year contract from Abu Moslem.
CHARLTON: D: An okayish day for Charlton, Uraguay midfielder Omar Pouso should add to the midfield, though not getting Bolanos due to a work permit, seriously how does a footballer not get a work permit these days, where exactly is he going to disappear to, not like he hasn't got a job, skills, or taxes. Senegal and Sochaux defender Solueymane Diawara should boost the defence, Jason Euell permanent exit and Stephan Andersen on loan. Still get the feeling that this are just small moves and they're getting to struggle.
CHELSEA: C: Ashley Cole gives them the left back they want and everyone is glad the saga is over, except Wayne Bridge, losing Gallas is big though,as well as HUth leaving them just three centre backs. Chelsea did the unthinkable as well, they made a rival stronger.
EVERTON: NO grade: SOld Kilbane and didn't buy anyone, hard to grade as they arguably didn't need a great deal after a strong start and what they did need they probably couldn't afford after the summer.
FULHAM: D: Losing Malbranque was a blow, but he was always leaving, getting Routledge in should help and hopefully he could have a point to prove after his time at spurs, goalkeeper Jan Lastuvka signed from Shakhtar Donetsk on loan until the end of the season. Fulham also let Legwiniski go as well. The team need strengthening mcuh more than this.
LIVERPOOL: No grade: Like Everton difficult to grade, maybe they could have pushed through the deal for Lucas Neil more but squad pretty deep anyway. Mellor left for Preston and Pongolle left on his 900th loan deal, no major change though.
MAN CITY: D: Brought in Damarcus beasley on a seasons loan, but they did lose COle and Siberski, cole was important for them last season. In addition man city didn't really sign any one of note to push them on. Keeping distin and richards will help though.
MAN UTD: incomplete: Top of the table, lots of goals, three wins from three, nice football, who are we to say united needed a player. A ballwinner might of helped, an injury to saha could be a huge blow. On the outside Rossi will gain experience at Newcastle and
Liam miller join Ireland B at sunderland.
IN the meanwhile we wait and see whether inaction was the best course of action.
MIDDLESBOROUGH: C: Huth and Woodgate will make a huge difference in the middle of defence, Euell not that sure what he adds, and keeping Downing was important, still think Boro have more work to do in January.'
NEWCASTLE: C: On the plus side they brought in forward help in Rossi and SIberski, on the negative side they messed up the MIlner deal, and failed to get Gravesen, Huth, Woodgate or Bridge, that defence still is very weak.
PORTSMOUTH: B: Wow how many players do they have these days. Cole might be the real steal, look better than he has for a while last season at Man City and under HArry expect him to do even better. Add in Niko Kranjcar from Hajduk Split for £3.5million and Sporting Lisbon winger Roudolphe Mbela Douala on a season-long loan.
READING: D: They did bring in MAte on loan,a Hungary Under-21 international defender which should help shore up a leaky defence. As well as De la Cruz from Villa who hasn't settled in England but might However personal problems with Lita and Kitson's injury means they could have done with some help up front.
SHEFF UNITED: E: Not putting up the cash for NUgent and others might really hit hard, could be a long hard season. The signing of colin kazim richards is a good one, but is tough to expect him to hard the ground running.
TOTTENHAM: B: Malbranque is a great pickup, although will be out of action for a while, Mido will provide a big help up front and chimbonda should be really great addition to the backline. Still think they could do with one or two more, but really successful day for spurs.
WATFORD: E: Started brightly and as such only brought in Tommy Smith from Derby, you would hope they kept some cash aside for January when injuries and suspension start to hit.
WEST HAM: A PLUS: The stars of the day, Tevez and Mascherano, two of the best young players in the world, headed to west ham. They also kept Reo-Coker. Simply a stunning move that transfers west ham into the big time.
WIGAN: C: Young David Cotterill for two million shows the club have ambition, Todorov is a good sqaud striker addition, kilbane should help out on the left. The loss of Chimbonda has always been anticipated and has been planned for and Kavanagh wouldn't be missed too much.
MOVERS ELSEWHERE
CHAMPIONSHIP
PAlace had a big day bringing in Shefi Kuki proven menace at this level and young hull midfielder stuart green.
Coventry brought in Leon mckenize for one million, good buy though maybe overpriced, not buying nacho navo would be a loss if they haven't,but who knows what's happening there.
Bridges and Forster should really help hull with the goals, Ipswich sign in legwinski and macken two goodpickups.
Sunderland had a huge day, liam miller and kavanagh should combine with whitehead and hysen for a great mixture of youth and experience in the middle. COnnolly is a golascorer and yorke should give him plenty of chances. Varga and Kenny cunnigham will be tough at the heart of defence and wallace from celtic should take arca's place on the left of defence.
Quiet move of the day is Idiakez to southampton who could be the final piece in that promtion jigsaw.
League one and two I'll talk about in future betting previews.
