View Full Version : Pick of the day 19/11
And this time it is my turn to start the new day in this great competition, with pick from Euro 2004 qualifications of course. ;)
Norway – Spain (-0.5) – 2 @ 2.08 (Pointbet)
Result in first match was 2-1 for Spain. So they basically need only draw to go to Euro. But if you watched the first match you could see the big difference between these two teams. Spain had something like 30 shots and should have scored at least 5 goals in that match. But Norway had luck and briliant goalkeeper and they managed to lose by only one goal.
My opinion about this second leg is that Spain won't be satisfied with a draw. Because they risk a lot if they play on a draw. If Norway would score in last minutes Spain would be on the edge of losing this tie. So Spain will attack from the first minute and will prove their quallity and will win this match. Norway is not that strong as it used to be few years ago. Now they are having problems with wining against much weaker teams than Spain. Norway is also missing some important players so I don't see them having a chance here. All they have is home ground and supporters but against mighty Spain I am afraid that won't be enough. I expect score like 0-2 or 1-2.
Good luck to all of you and let these Euro2004 matches today be as entertaining as they can be and let the best teams win. I hope we will see some extra times and penalty shots too.
Wales v Russia:UNDER 2.5 (1.70 LB)
Ok last night i was lucky with my Venezuela pick as they won with 2 goals last minutes...maybe thats a sign that i should be carefull as my winning streak will end sooner or later...For those of you who saw the first game between those 2 teams will understand why i pick under. The only chance that it will not come like that is if one of the teams make early goal. But i really dont think so with such football...Both teams IMO will be very cautious not to conceed a goal because then they will have problem...

Morning
Pick 5 [Football] World Cup Qual.
Colombia v ARGENTINA:2 @ 1.83 [Premierbet]
Argentina have been in good form so far in Qualifying.Unbeaten in all three games played so far,and coming off comprehensive Wins over Bolivia and Venezuela.
As they are yet to play main rivals in this group,Paraguay,Brazil and Uruguay, the Argentines will be motivated to get all three points against Colombia who are playing very bad football lately.Main problem seems to be an ineffective attack.
The heavy 4-0 defeat to Bolivia who Argentina trounced 3-0 last week suggests a big disadvantage tonight.
GaryB
there is only one interesting game today. for me.
SLOVENIA-CROATIA 2,6, interwetten
prediction:1
well, maybe i am not objective, but this is really good opportunity for slovenia. after 1-1 in zagreb, o-0 is enough. but, i dont think we will just defend. we have good team, and most important is that we have team spirit. all players aylways plays as a team. even zahovi***269; does.
our defense is probably best thing in our team. knavs, vugdali***269;, cipot. off course midfield is good too. kari***269;, šukalo, pavlin, ***269;eh and today rudonja. they were outstanding in first match. and today rudonja will play on right side. he is so fast, no one can catch him. maybe, he score, like against romania. and zahovi***269; and a***269;imovi***269; in front.
on the other hand, i have feeling bari***269; lost his head. in first game he played with 5 in defence. against slovenia. and 3 in front. and today, he is even more nervous. i cant understand, he called šokota for game in ljubljana. he lost his orientation. he wasnt good for first game and now he is best. dont understand. and he will probably in first eleven.unbelieveable. and then babi***269;, plays for bayer, will be on bench. and leko, maybe best player, on the bench too. off course he was not good in first game. but, to put him on the bench. ok. and i have to mentione kranjcar. only 19 years old. and they said, he is not experienced enough for national team. what aboit rooney and england? why can he play for england?
i think, if croatia will have good coach, capable of doinf what he is payed for, they should allready be in portugal. with those players. but, today, i dont think they are capable to beat slovenia.
SLOVENIA IS THE BEST
Netherlands - Scotland HC 0:1 1 1.65 Interwetten
The quality of these 2 teams is very different and of course better for Dutch team.Under other circumstances would be very risky to pick this bet, but today this means qualification for Netherlands after 0-1 defeat in Glasqow. The only other way for Netherlands to qualify is 1-0 win and then qualify in extra time or penalty kick...
Out for "oranje" will be Stam and probably Van der Meyde, while Bouma and Roben had been called from Advocat to give something more than Saturday's game.
I believe in their target and if they believe it too, I am sure they can do it.
Dont forget that Oranje were out of World Cup 2002 and one more absence would be too hard to accept it...

ULEB Euroleague
Pamesa - ALBA +12,5 1 @1.85 BetandWin
Pamesa showed some very confident play last couple matches and they presents some great basketball. They are playing with whole 12 players and that is their advantage comparing to most of teams in this league. It seems that time for knowing new players with team has passed and all newcomers are playing great (Rigodeau,Popovic,Dikoudis) and with Tomasevic whoo is in excellent form this team just can`t stop (at least now).
ALBA showed their weakness last week when they losed against SLASK in Berlin. They just don`t have team capable to play this league (especialy in this group),so with both lost matches against teams that are rivals for next stage, they just lost all their chances to go through.Pesic is injuried and it makes big problems to their conception of play (very importnat player for them) and he probably won`t play this match.Stanojevic just can`t play himdself without help and if Pamesa centers stop him (which I have no doubts) , half of work is done.
I dont see how ALBA can make something in this match to except lose with big diference.
Been looking around the Swedish games today, but I don't know... perhaps I have to go south to find tody's best bet?
Equador-Peru 1 @1,80 with Unibet.
Equador are very strong at home, and for this game three good players return, Obregon, Reasco and Carlos Tenorio. Peru aren't really that good overall, and here Solano is suspended, a key player.
Not an awesome price but still a very probable home win.
MIN Wild v PIT Penguins 1 @1.46 Gamebookers
Pittsburgh still without Mario Lemieux and Rico Fata are the worst team in league. In the last six games, Pittsburgh has been outscored 29-11, outshot 210-147. IMO Minnesota will win this one.
Wales - Russia 1, 2.5 @ Interwetten
It's day "o" for the welsh football. It's long time since Welshs played last time in a final tournament.Today they have historic opportunity to do that in front of their 75,000 fans, all they have to do is to beat Russia.Well, the second part of this sentence doesn't sound so nice for Wales as the first one. We'll see how achievable is that.Wales is the only squad today without suspended players, but big blow for them will surely be missing long-term injured Craig Bellamy.Robbie Earnshaw will try to replace him properly in his home town.I see a sky-high motivated Wales which has very-well equilibrated squad and, maybe arrogant, but very good tactian Marc Hughes.
On the other hand Russia also have a selection problem because goalkeeper Sergei Ovchinnikov and captain Aleksandr Mostovoi are suspended after they received bookings in the first game. Without Ovchinnikov the Russian coach Georgi Yartsev will be forced to select either 17-year-old Igor Akinfeev or Viatcheslav Malafeev, neither of whom have been capped before. Also left-midfielder Andrey Karyaka is injured and left-out in Russia and playmaker Yegor Titov is doubtfull.Russians dominated the first match, but without having many goal opportunities.Today, it will be totally different match with Wales playing more attacking (probably with 2 strikers), and Russia with young and fast strikers is surely capable to score on counter (i disagree with most BA users thinking it's safe under match).Wales got what they wanted in the first match, and i see them getting Euro 2004 spot tonight.
Football, Euro 2004 qualification
Wales-Russia draw at HT ----> 2.10 @expekt
Casabel took the UNDER-bet so I go for the second best thing.
I can't see many goals in this game, and none of the teams seems confident enough to push forward, and since the first game ended 0-0, no teams has to push forward. Goals can always be scored out of nothing, or stupid mistakes, but those usually comes from fatigue or nervousness, and this often occurs late in the game. That's why I'm going for this pick at half time.
Though I think all today Euro 2004 qualification games are tricky, I decided to take one for Pick of the day...
Holland - Scotland (0:1 3/4) 1  2,13@Pinnacle
This handicap seems to be a bit high, so odds are going up for it. At more then 2,10 I start to like it. Holland needs two goals difference and I think they will get it tonight. We can expect attacking football from Dutch side, and with Overmars, Van Nistelrooy, van der Vaart, van der Meyde (and Makaay and van Hooydonk waiting on the bench), they have power to do it. Scots are knows as fighters, so big match is expected. Still, I count on quality and class of Holland players.
Sorry for a bit short prediction, but I don't have time for it, and I bet you all know well both teams :)
Good luck!
I made today risky pick from NHL:
FLORIDA Panthers-NEW YORK Islanders TAKE DRAW 3.90 at Expekt
Last season Florida had very big number games ended in overtime, now they have 16 games without OT.On the other hand Islanders struggles away, they have only one win in seven away games but againt the Panthers they haven't lost on the road almost four years.
NYI have seven games without OT.
Today morning i and my fellow smoked joints, drink beer and think about today bets. When i closed my eyes i heard something tell me:
"Come on :!: Don't worry :!: Take draw here :!: Tommorow you'll be rich :!: "
I think it's time for close (overtime) game and both teams will be happy with one point.

(hope I m not too late for the game!)
SORRY, I THINK THE GAME STARTED 10 minutes ago...my bad.
Cancel the bet, please Tahoma.thanx.
Heh, I think you won't be too sad because of that pick being made too late. You are going to Portugal man! And let me congratulate you and I will cheer for Croatia there for sure. I always have this feeling when they play that we're still in the same country, but unfortunatelly we're not anymore. So good luck there too!
Kind talk Weity. Wish my countryman were so kind on 'our' forum
